It is never a good thing for there to be quiet when there is a toddler around. Madison has been doing really well with her "colo-colos" (crayons/colors-colors) since we got home from vacation. She draws on her floor pad. So this morning I thought I would take advantage of this time to clean the kitchen. I peeked in on her a couple of times and heard her saying some of her colors, and then quiet...
I am fairly sure you know where this is going... I turned the corner and there was hr drawing pad, empty... My little artist was drawing a very blue mural on the wall next to our front door. Being the wonderful mom I am I went over and took the crayon and explained to her that we only color on paper, right?? Nope, try again.. I grabbed the camera b/c this would be a great story to tell her later and snapped a few shots and then i told her we only color on paper, and well... the bath tub too. I was fairly sure she got it as she went to coloring nicely again on the paper pad. Aparently she is smarter than us adult folk b/c when I woke up for work there was a lovely shade of red in with the blue... Stinker. I suppose she thought our living room would be a much cooler place if we decorated more like Elmo. Of course I left it there to show it off a bit and then I will hook up with Mr CLean and scrub walls.
A few other funny things recently... I guess Madison knows a ton of words she hasn't chosen to share with us yet, and slowly she will throw us for a loop by spouting out a word we have never heard from her before. When we look at each other like "DID SHE JUST SAY..." SHe gives us the what's your problem look. Grandmas, you know what I am talking about.
SHe has also taken to calling me "Mommay" and now even more recently Aaron has become "Dadday" It's kinda cute, but strange.
One last thing and then I will let you go on with your day. Apparently Madison was all but climbing in our trashcan today calling for "Oster, Oster" (oscar)My mom had to explain to her that oscar didn't live in that trashcan, it was icky. It took a lot of convincing, but eventually she won her over. I guess I'll have to take a Sesame Street head cound every couple of hours to make sure we aren't having any trashcan parties. What next? =o)

The story behind the pics...
i have been so excited to blog on our vacation, and dreading it just the same. I have so much to write about, it was sooo much fun, i don't want to miss anything. I guess i'll start at the beginning and go a day at a time. Bear with me... and please ignore the typos. I am at work, it is 4am and this keyboard is terrible and the keys stick!
We left town Tuesday and got on the road around 0900 and made a few stops for cofee. I guess the trip really got going close to 10am. Madison was content in the middle seat of the expedition with her "ma-maw" next to her. SHe had her movies on. i was in the back seat... I had the whole back seat to myself so i could try to get some sleep after working all night. so much for that. i think i nodded of somewhere between a maryland rest stop and PA and slept through Delaware. It was probly a total of 2 hours sleep.
We made it to the Crayola Factory and Madison had a blast. SHe got to use colorwonder markers, play with sidewalk chalk and even play with model magic clay. She thought that was pretty neat. She picked corn in the "garden" and talked a little about her colors too. THen we hit the gift shop. $3.00 later we had a bag of very pretty rocks...lol
Next was the Crayola shop. They have very cute shopping carts for the little ones to shop with. madison grabbed hhold of one and went to town. she filled it up and was quite proud. After securing her loot, we headed to the hotel and that is where the real fun began. Madison was wired and did not go to bed. by this time i was exhausted. It was fairly sad, if you can picture two grown adults hiding under the covers from their child so they would got to sleep...
Wednesday we had breakfast at the hotel and then daddy took a conference call. After that we loaded up and headed to sesame place. madison started spotting the characters pictures before we parked and shouted them out. We snuck in for a showing of elmo's world live...she was very exciited. We walked all over, she ran around and finally after a few character spottings and lots of shopping, she fell asleep. Too bad it was about 35 min before the parade started. To daddy's dismay, mommy and "ma=maw' woke Madison up and boy were we glad we did. She wastched and clapped and squealed from the saftey of daddy's shoulders. I wasnted to cry she was so happy.
After the parade we went to have dinner with the characters. Madison got to hug and love Elmo, cookie monster, zoe, and big bird. THis meant I also got upclose and personal with them =oP SHe was squealing and blowing kisses and waving!! she was too excited for words. all of the characters came to each table too! i think cookie monster might have goosed grandpa! You'll have to ask him, but i think we have the picture to prove it. lol
Towards the end of the dinner all the characters came out and danced with the kids. Madison beelined for ernie and even got to dance with him..SHe grabbed a hold of his thumbs and wouldn't let go!! I was wondwering why ernie was dancing with her so long! Silly, sneaky girl!
WHen we left we took her back to the hotel and threw her in the pool a bit to make sure she was worn out! still didn't work. she was so excited she didn't want to go to sleep and finally an hour after the battle started she gave in and fell asleep on daddy's chest.
We had breakfast with the characters again on Thursday morning after checking out from the hotel. Another great start to the day. Bert was there this time too! We even got to see "osta' (oscer)right before breakfast. It was funny b/c a lot of the kids were scared but she loved them. We found the kiddo spot with "little bird's nest" and "ernie's bed bounce' madison ran around lik crazy and would run and jump and land on her but. She pooped twice in the nest too. stopped dead in her tracks and stuck everyone out.
Next we were off to the sandy beach spot. Here we found out that madison does not care for sand on her feet. Good thing we didn't spend money on a trip to the ocean this year =oP Abby Cadabby's Treasure Hunt and a little more shopping rouunded off the day. I think most of sesame street followed up home. We had a caricture drawing done of us also. Too funny.
madison fell asleep as soon as we hit the car and we went shopping a bit at Franjklin mills mall. She got some clothes and 4 new pairs of shoes!! Rotten girl! THe ride home was great too. She is such a good traveler. SHe was upset because she told us she was going to pop, then pooped and didn't want to sit in it. We opulled of at the nearest exit, but she screamed "poo-poo" until we changed her. just more re-enforcements that it is time to start potty training. I think we got home around 9pm Thursday night.
A special thankyou to grandpa and grandma for everything they did for us on vacation. We loved that they were there and are very appreciative for all they have done. Madison is truley blessed to have two set of grandparents that would give her the world. THank you for driving us and everything else you do! what a great vfamily vacatin with what will be great memories.
Oh yeah, and remember that "whole backseat" I started out with??? there was barely enough room for my butt to fit on the seat on the way back. If Madison had done anymore shopping the would have have to send mne back UPS!!

and WE'RE OFF..... Almost
I can't believe it almost time to crowd into a packed Expedition and head off to PA for our whirlwind vacation. Madison has had diarrhea, I think she is allergic to the thought of vacation! SHe seems to be fine and isn't bothered, but could you imagine that is a swim diaper? Hopefully she is done and she seems to be.
The Crayola Factory will be our first stop this afternoon. We will then have two days at Sesame Place. And if it rains, I'm sure there will be some shopping to be done. =o)
I am at work (my 3rd 12 hour night shift in a row)and get off at 0730. We are supposed to leave around 0830 in the am. I just hope I don't snore to loud or drool too much on the way there!!
EHMO, COOKIE, BIH Bir, OSTER... HERE WE COME!

A Few updates...
``Madison has been busy as usual. She loves to build with blocks and learns many new words each day. We went to the doctor on Wednesday for her 18 mo. well-check. (18.5 mo) The doctor was really impressed wth her. she was running and skipping an jumping. She kept telling the doctor "bye, bye-bye, no-no, and go!" She pointed out all of her body parts and when to doctor said she was all done she said "ALRIIIIGHT!!"
Madison weighs 22# 3 oz and I think they said she is 32 inches tall. She is still in the 25% for weight, and 50% for height. We got the all clear. As we were on our way out the door Dr Welham caught us and said Madison is reay for potty training!!! She states "All her gears are turning." So I guess we will work on this when we get back from vacation.
Yes, I did say vacation!! We are finally set to leave on Tuesday morning. I should look reaaly cute fter working all night, but it should still be fun. ELMO HERE WE COME!!
Daddy also bought Madison a butterfly costume for dress up. We put it on last night and she didn't want to take it off. So, we headed to Bloom with our little butterfly.
I think next summer is definalty going to be a blast with Madison. I have decided we are going to plant a flower garden for her. SHe love floweres, and rocks! Better go for now. Look for updates and pictures after our vacation. We will return on Thursday evening.

BEWARE BLOOM SHOPPERS!!!
Recently, customers have been spotting insects (of the flying kind) in BLOOM. The love the produce section. They have been known to climb in the cart of the unsuspecting shopper and eat there selections. Customers often get home to find their food has been taste tested. So, be on the lookout.
Here are a few pictures snapped by some of the shoppers who were lucky enough to notice the attack...

1...2...3...
JUMP!!!
I know I have said that Madion is a waterbug, but now she has demonstrated that she has no fear! She loves to jump off of the side of the pool. I even let her go under the water with her water wings on. She came back up, blew a little and then said "gain." Of course I forgot my camera! Go figure... She continues to spout off words that I didn't quite know were in her vocabulary. i think she is gonna give us a run for our money. She is also sporting some new crib sheets. I wish I had some that nice for my bed =o) I know I have posted pics for this update, but I can't remember what they are of, so bear with me. Enjoy and I'll be back soon I'm sure =o)
