Don't Blink...

If you do, she's likely to be in college when you open your eyes. Madison has been a busy girl. It seems that at the age of 2 a part of their brain unlocks and just starts pouring words and a greater understanding of the world all over you! He vocabulary is amazing, it seems to double every day. We also have conversations now and a few very funny stories to share...

Madison helped Poppy plant tulips the other day. She had a blast, and was very meticulous about the bulbs and where they went. She even peeled to outside skin of so the weren't "dirdy".

Mamaw had Madison o Tuesday and when they got home and went to unlock the door Mamaw noticed a spider hanging close ot the door knob. She says she was blowing on the spider and noticed Madison looked at her like she was crazy. When she explained to Madison that there was a spider near the door knob smart pants very quickly said "shoo spider I said shoo!" Not sure where she learned that from, but very funny. I'll try to provide video for you.

Madison has a new word from Tuesday also. Pepperoni... I'm not even sure if I can spell it correctly, but she can say it perfectly.

Mamaw said Madison told her she wanted to use the potty. Mamaw got excited b/c she has ever used the potty for her. She said they got her clothes off and she sat down on the potty and gave it a real girl scout try. After a while she stood up, turned around and SPIT in the potty. Then she clapped and said "Yeah!" She was bound and determined to leave something wet in there!

Last for now, I got the little cutie dressed for play gym this morning and went to get her a cup for after class. She came into the kitchen saying "boots on mommy!" She had put them on all by herself and decided that was what she was going to wear... so off we went!

well...

I guess we are not quite done after all. Madison has had diarrhea 3 times today. Needless to say I kept her home from play gym. I don't believe in infected other children. Hoping to be better by Friday so we can go to a Trunk show at Madison's buddies house. it would be nice to see the Twinadoes too!

We survived!

It is officially over, and life in the Brumbaugh house is finally back to normal! We all ended upi with the stomach bug that got Madison Friday night! Aaron had it by Sunday night and I followed suit Monday morning. I guess there wen all of my paid leave from work! This thing also brought on fevers. Madison and Aaron had theirs for about 2 days, the second day being a low grade. I only had mine one day, and it was about 102. By the next morning I was feeling much better and even went grocery shopping that night! I am bummed though, wish it had happened for me sunday night too, it would have been the same call out incident from work... All in all just thankful to be healthy again! That was awful! Back to play gym today. Madison is fighting to have cheetos for breakfast!

The puking house

You have all heard of the Napping House?? Well, here at the Brumbaugh house we have become the Puking House. madison started in on Friday night with throwing up everywhere. It was pitiful. She was sick all through the night and woke up feeling a bit better only to start in with a fever by afternoon. She had diarrhea on Sunday and Sunday night sure enough Aaron is sick! I am at work wishing I was home with my babies. Madison wouldn't go to sleep so she was on the couch watching hockey with aaron while he ran back and forth to the bathroom. I heard her on the phone say "hi daddy, you okay?" What a sweet girl. Now I just hope I don't get it!

Valentine's Day Plus Some!

Yesterday was a very busy day for Princess Madison. She Had a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning for her 2 year well check. Daddy and I both went. I am proud to say that she weighed in at 26 pounds (with clothes on) and moved into the 50% for weight. She is 34.25 inches and 75% for height! She got to wear a cute little paper gown too. We told her it was jsut like elmo. She told the doctor what to do with her stethoscope. She said heartbeat! She got a little nervous when she looked in her ears, but was very proud to show off her teeth. The doctor even said she is getting her 2 year molars! We had to have labs done to follow up on her probable dx of Beta Thalasemia Trait. She will require no further follow up with this until she starts dating. We will know if this is the case when her labs return. She wasn't a big fan of having blood work done, but was a champ. She sat in Daddy's lap and told them no tanks. She pulled her sleeve back down and was none to pleased to have it pushed back up. They got it first stick and she cried with that little lip quiver cry but kept quivering "I'm Fine" and when they were done said "thank you" SO polite! The loved her so much!

We went to the mall with Rachel an Adriana for a special Valentine treat and played at Buzzy's play park. It was a loot of fun and Madison made some friends. I will have to say she squeals when she gets excited and incited a squeal fest. We all know when one squeals, they all squeal... some of the mom's didn't look to happy, but hey, it's a play park for kids! The girls had a blast. After lunch we went to build a bear and Madison pushed a baby puppy around in a stroller and made a Jaguar names "baby J" she is getting really good at naming things. She got a speacial "Rella" (cinderalla) cookie and then we headed home. On our way we realized Daddy had our keys in DC. So we picked Mamaw up form work and took her home and played with Jay, Nina and Poppy too. She also played with Oakley and Riley... Lots of fun, then off to dinner at Sakura. Madison sat very well in her seat but wasn't really sure about the fire. She gobbled up her soup, but didn't care for her food. All in all a great day. She continues to kiss her boo-boo and loved her locket and flowers and stuffed friends.

First Valentine's Party

So much fun! We went to Toddlin Time today and Madison took part in her first Valentine's Party. She handed out valentine's and even got a few herself. They sang valentine song and had treats at the end. Madison really enjoyed her cookie! I wouldn't want to be the one to get between her and a cookie. I have my very own cookie monster. I included a few pics from Madison's first V-Day (she was just 11 days old) and her 2nd VDay, which didn't cooperate for... Ofcourse there are some from today too! And I am sure that there will be pictures from tomorrow too. We will be spending most of the day with "Rarell and Nana" (RACHEL AND ADRIANNA) Glad to hear good news from S.D. Hurry home Mamaw! Here's some videos for you...

Daddy's Got Wheels!

I can't believe I haven't shouted this from the roof tops yet. For those of you who didn't know, Aaron earned his wheels! Madison and Dadddy went out for some quality father/daughter time while I slept a bit for work yesterday. I think they had a good time. He learned a very important lesson though... Always carry a diaper bag. If you don't they WILL poop. Good thing I carry wipees and diapers in the car! LOL

Happy Birthday Kendall!

Good intentions...

As I close on my last night of vacation with Madison I waned to have a special night with her. We had a big day today. Kendall's birthday party was this afternoon. It started at 1pm and we ran some errands for Shannon first. It worked out well and we had a blast. Kendall was adorable as always and really loved her cake. Of course Madison was right there to show her the ropes. It's hard a s a mom sometimes to know whether to stop and activity or let it go on. I wasn't sure if people were amused by Madison and Kendall with the cake or thinking, somebody please get that child. I think it was the first of the two, if not my apologies. As we left Kendall's party Madison asked to see Poppy and Mamaw. I told her if she was still awake at the end of the road we would stop by. I was positive she would be out before we hit the end of the drive way. Guess what! She was awake and asking for Poppy! so off we went. I think we caught them a little off guard and Poppy seemed a little grouchy. i know that isn't what he meant, but I felt for a brief second that I better call first next time. (He likes to Madison proof the house i think.) Of course he was thrilled to see her though. They played and played and even tried to go for a ride on the tractor. Surprisingly Madison said "no tractor poppy" I eventually got her in the car and she cried about 5 min for Poppy. She decided she wanted french fries and I got them. We were almost home and I turn around and she is out! It is about 5:45 pm now. I get her in the house and let her sleep about 30 min. SHe wakes up and is a bear. She is soo tired. I got her milk and put her jammies on and we curled up on the couch and put in Cinderella 2, her new favorite movie. I thought she would go to sleep but she didn't. it was great snuggle time. About half way through the movie I paused it and took her up for a bath. SHe cried through it and then we came back down for more cuddle time on the couch. At the end of the movie she was still awake and said "night night rella!" I took her up and rocked her for a long time and she wanted to play. Finally I put her in bed and covered her up with Ben her puppy and her nummies and left. She cried like she had lost her best friend and kept saying "mommy help" After 5 min I went back up and rocked her. She put her hand in her shirt and acted like it was stuck. (that was her dilemma that she needed help with!) she is very smart. After about 20 min i ended up putting her back in the crib anyways b/c she wouldn't go to sleep. She was fighting with everything she had. She cried for a couple of minutes and then was out. There is some truth to the whole overtired thing. No more skipping naps. it is no fun for anyone. I guess I was hoping for a better night since work starts back tomorrow night. I have really enjoyed being a normal person for a while. it feels good.

Mamaw's and Papaws/Poppys everywhere!

Today was a great day, aside from my sore throat which is still lingering. We started off the day with Toddlin Time play gym. I can;t say it enough that Madison loves the place, although she seems to show her butt on Fridays. She got her Toddlin Teddy today too that mom had ordered her for her birthday. Then we went to lunch with Mamaw Catherine and had a blast, a brief stop in Target and then home for a nap. We then got Daddy from the train and off to dinner with Papaw. Madison was a big gorl and ate well. She then climbed in Papaw's lap and said "geese" he was ready to go visit her feathered friends. She got a very nice valentines gift too. It is a beautiful Madison sized locket! I wonder if she knows how loved she is? i know a couple of grandparents that are absolutley smitten with her! Then off to Poppy's for a quick visit with he and Mamaw! She was so exxcited. I'm going to try to post pictures... Special prays go out for "Mamaw Udy" as Madison calls her, that her appointment i=on Tuesday goes well and that she ans Mamaw have a good time together dring there visit. We are sending our love and butterfly kisses across the states and right to you! Take care of our Mamaw ok Mamaw Udy??!

Potty Training fun!

Today we went shopping for Kendall's birthday. And I have to give myself, and mom kudos... Madison did not get a thing from gymboree today! I'm not saying it was easy, but we did it! Madison has continues to go on her potty well. As we were leaving the mall tonight she stopped dead in her tracks at Belk, drops her pants and says "pee-pee" and was looking for a potty! We went to the big potty, wiped it down and coated it with toilet paper, but it was all a little much for her. SHe was a little intimidated. I'm not read for her sweet little butt to touch a public potty. Do you think anyone would look at me funny if i carried a little potty around in my stroller?? LOL

Loving my time off...

It seems that everyone is sick this time of year... except Madison. I am thankful for that. I have been off for a while and I can't tell you how good it feels to be away from that place. I feel like a new person despite this funk I have. Madison and I have made the most out of our time. We had beautiful weather yesterday so we went to Toddlin Time and had a blast with our friends and then to Downtown Fred for some walking and window shopping. You couldn't pass up the weather. i hope everyone enjoyed it. We had some fun with our friends Rachel and Adrianna too! Then Uncle Jay and Kristina, "Nina" came over for dinner. Madison took a nap on the couch like a big girl too! I wish she would nap in the bed with me! Potty training is going pretty well. She doesn't always make it to the potty, but the idea is there, and she undresses herself some now to go. She almost always pees when you put her on the potty and she jumps up looks in and says yay! when she goes! She gets m&m's for going potty and now knows the difference between one and two! She even picks out her color! Tomorrow should be fun... Her Toddlin Teddy came in so we will get that after class. She loves him and tries to monopolize his time! Her vocabulary has really jumped and she is farily easy to converse with! It is all so exciting, but it means our baby is growing up... I'm still not sure if I have accepting the fact that she is officially 2 now! But she sure acts it. We have been lucky. SHe has her moments, but otherwise is a very sweet baby, I mean toddler. Will keep you up to date!

Hey Grandma!

Madison wanted to send Grandma a message. It just isn't the same without you!javascript:void(0)
